In the proposed proposal, the aim of the research is to investigate the effect of prompts and prompt writing on the performance of ChatGPT in poetry translation. In line with this aim, the quality of the translation performed by AI is examined using the Descriptive Translation Studies (DTS). Also, in accordance with the Reader Response Theory, considering the importance of the reader of a text in completing the meaning derived from that text and its appearance in the translation, the translations made by ChatGPT AI will be made available to the poetry readers and their reactions to the translations will be examined in accordance with the questionnaire received. As mentioned, the aforementioned questionnaire is the main tool for collecting information for the researcher, which is a version of the well-known questionnaire called LRQ (Literary Response Questionnaire) designed by Miall 1995. It should be noted that the participants in this research are the poetry readers who contribute to the purpose of this research with their responses to the questionnaire. The participants of this study are members of the poetry group "Dar Panah-e- Sher" and undergraduate students of Persian literature at Allameh Tabatabaei University. The research questions are as follows:
1- What is the effect of different promptings on the quality of poetry translationbased on the Tentative Model proposed by Dastjerdi et al.(2008)?
2- According to the results of the adapted version of the Literary Response Questionnaire (Miall & Kuiken, 1995), which translation versions (using both detailed and non-detailed prompts) receive higher reader ratings for conveying the intended poetic experience?
