Operation Al-Aqsa Storm as a security event on October 7, 2023, rapidly extended beyond the geographical boundaries of the occupied territories. The operation had significant consequences and impacts on the security equations and dynamics of the entire Middle East. Iran, as a country in the Middle East, has also been affected by the security consequences of this military operation.This study seeks to examine the security implications of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood for Iran’s surrounding security environment. Adopting a novel approach to the application of Barry Buzan and Ole Wæver’s Regional Security Complex Theory (RSCT) and employing a library-based research method, the present study draws upon credible scholarly and research sources, including books, academic articles, and reputable scientific websites, to answer the question: What security implications has Operation Al-Aqsa Flood had for Iran?The findings of the study indicate that the operation has increased threats and insecurity within Iran’s security environment. It has also contributed to an increased U.S. military presence in the region. Furthermore, the expansion of regional conflicts and the spillover of the crisis into other security issues, particularly the hostility between Iran and the Israeli regime, have resulted in direct and limited confrontations between Iran and Israel. Consequently, the proxy deterrence between Iran and Israel has increasingly transformed into direct deterrence
