The development of professional functions of medical graduates is a longitudinal, gradual, and contextualized process of growth and transformation of professional abilities, during which medical knowledge, skills, attitudes, judgments, and roles are acquired, consolidated, and applied in the real health service environment through education, clinical experience, feedback, self-assessment, purposeful practice, and lifelong learning. The present study aimed to identify factors affecting the development of professional functions of medical graduates with a meta-synthesis approach, using the Ken-Meads seven-role framework. Methodology: The research method is qualitative and meta-synthesis; the synthesis steps were implemented based on Roberts' six-step model, and the study selection report was organized with the Prisma 2020 guidelines and the Prisma-S extension. Persian and English sources published in the years 2010 to 2026 and 2010 to 2026 were searched in selected scientific databases and platforms. Findings: The findings include 5 core categories, 20 subcategories, and 94 concepts. Results: Developing professional functions is a multilevel, cyclical, and lifelong process that requires aligning curriculum, assessment, faculty development, institutional support, and health system needs with the roles of nurses.
