This study aims to investigate the acute effects of two post-activation performance enhancement (PAPE) protocols using 75% and 90% of one-repetition maximum (1RM) on bench press performance in elite classic powerlifters. Because success in powerlifting competitions often depends on small performance differences, identifying effective warm-up strategies is of great practical importance. This semi-experimental crossover study with repeated measures will include 15 elite powerlifters who meet the inclusion criteria. Each participant will complete both PAPE protocols in a randomized order with a 72-hour washout period between sessions. All testing procedures will be performed according to the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) technical rules to closely simulate competition conditions. Following a standardized warm-up, participants will perform the assigned conditioning activity, rest for 8 minutes, and then complete three simulated competition bench press attempts. The primary outcome is bench press performance across the three attempts. Acute muscle fatigue will be assessed using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), and perceived exertion will be evaluated using the Borg Rating of Perceived Exertion (RPE) scale. Data will be analyzed using one-way repeated-measures ANOVA in SPSS. The findings are expected to identify the most effective PAPE protocol for maximizing bench press performance and provide evidence-based recommendations for pre-competition warm-up strategies in elite powerlifting athletes.
