This research is designed to investigate and compare the perceptions of mothers of adolescent girls and the adolescent girls themselves (at the lower secondary school level) regarding the concept of "optimal parenting." Given the critical role of perceptual discrepancies between generations in the emergence of interpersonal challenges, this study aims to elucidate the similarities and nuances in the mental representations of both groups. These insights are intended to provide a scientific foundation for enhancing family mental health, improving parent–child relationship quality, and designing parenting education protocols. The theoretical framework emphasizes the provision of a safe, supportive, and predictable environment.

Throughout the implementation of this study, strict adherence to ethical standards remains a priority, specifically regarding the acquisition of informed and voluntary consent, the maintenance of data confidentiality, the protection of participants’ identities through the use of pseudonyms, and the guarantee of the right to withdraw from the research at any stage. Methodologically, this study adopts a qualitative approach utilizing thematic analysis. Data collection will be conducted through semi-structured interviews with purposively selected participants until theoretical saturation is achieved.
