The rapid expansion of digital technologies has profoundly transformed students’ learning patterns, modes of communication, and lifestyles. Within this context, gifted students, due to their distinctive cognitive and emotional characteristics, may be more vulnerable to the psychological consequences of digital technology use. Despite the educational and cognitive benefits of these technologies, a growing body of evidence suggests that excessive or unregulated use of digital tools may be associated with mental health problems. The aim of the present study is to examine a structural equation model of the relationship between digital technology use and mental health among gifted students, with particular emphasis on the mediating role of psychological characteristics and sleep problems. This study will adopt a correlational design using a structural equation modeling approach. The statistical population will consist of gifted secondary school students in the cities of Tehran, Tabriz, and Birjand, who will be selected using purposive sampling. Data will be collected through standardized questionnaires assessing the level of digital technology use, psychological characteristics, sleep problems, and mental health indicators.
