This study is designed as a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover trial, and all procedures will be conducted in accordance with the CONSORT checklist for crossover studies. In the first stage, each participant will attend a familiarization session during which all phases of the study will be fully explained. In this session, the athletes will complete a brief questionnaire to assess caffeine sensitivity, ensuring that no individual has a history of adverse reactions to caffeine. Baseline data—including anthropometric indices and information regarding training history and training volume—will also be collected.



To minimize the influence of diet on performance and biochemical responses, participants will be instructed to follow a standardized dietary plan provided by the research team during the 24 hours preceding each experimental session. This plan will contain identical macronutrient composition and total energy content across sessions. Dietary adherence will be monitored through self-report and verbal confirmation on the test day.



After the familiarization session, each wrestler will complete two experimental sessions, separated by a one-week washout period to prevent any carryover effects. Based on random allocation, participants will receive either a caffeine mouth rinse (CMR) solution or a placebo solution in the first session, and the alternate condition will be administered in the second session. Throughout all stages, both the participants and the researchers administering the tests will remain blinded to group allocation.
