Suicide is a critical global mental health crisis, particularly among adolescents in developing countries. Despite the rising trend of suicide attempts among Iranian students, there is a significant lack of localized research exploring the formation patterns of such behavior at the provincial level. This mixed-method study aims to identify the underlying pattern of suicide attempts among students in Qazvin Province and to develop a culturally appropriate preventive intervention package. In the qualitative phase, semi-structured interviews with students who have a history of suicide attempts, along with school counselors and other key informants, will be conducted to extract themes related to psychological, biological, familial, and socio-environmental risk factors. These findings will inform the development of a conceptual model, which will be tested in the quantitative phase through a structured questionnaire administered to a larger student sample. Thematic analysis and appropriate statistical tests will be used to analyze the data. The final outcome of the study is a comprehensive, evidence-based preventive package tailored to the sociocultural context of Qazvin. This package is expected to enhance early detection, inform school-based mental health strategies, and support policy development for adolescent suicide prevention. The results can serve as a foundation for targeted interventions by educational, health, and social institutions, contributing to a more resilient and responsive mental health system for at-risk youth.
