Research Problem:

Single-mother families, due to the combination of multiple roles, socio-economic pressures, and a lack of supportive resources, are more vulnerable than other families to a decline in family functioning. This issue can negatively affect intra-family relationships, the mental health of family members, and the development of children. Therefore, it is essential to design a specialized social work intervention protocol that provides scientific and practical strategies, tailored to the context of Iranian society, to improve the functioning of these families.

Objective:

To design a specialized social work protocol aimed at enhancing the components of family functioning in single-mother families.

Method:

This qualitative study will be conducted in several stages. In the first stage, a systematic and targeted review will be carried out. In the second stage, using content analysis, semi-structured interviews will be conducted with single-mother families and relevant experts and specialists.

Significance:

By providing a specialized protocol to improve family functioning in single-mother families, this study has the potential to enhance quality of life and reduce social harm among this vulnerable group.
