The aim of the present study will be to investigate the effectiveness of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) on social anxiety and loneliness in adolescents. This study will be conducted using a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The statistical population will consist of adolescents aged 11 to 15 who report high levels of social anxiety and loneliness, either through self-report or parental report. Participants will be selected through convenience sampling and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The experimental group will participate in eight weekly MBCT sessions, during which they will be introduced to practices such as mindfulness, acceptance, present-moment awareness, and observation of thoughts. The control group will not receive any intervention during this period. Data will be collected using the Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescents (La Greca) and the Loneliness Scale (DiTommaso), administered at three stages: pretest, posttest, and follow-up (one month later). The findings may be useful in designing preventive and therapeutic interventions for adolescents.
