According to Gray's theory, drug addiction is associated with a high score in the behavioral activation system and a low score in the behavioral inhibition system. According to Cloninger's theory, personality is composed of temperament components (novelty seeking, harm avoidance, effort dependence, and perseverance) and character (including self-strategy and cooperation). There is a significant relationship between high scores in novelty seeking, vulnerability, and low scores in self-strategy and substance use. According to various studies, there is a relationship between desirable social tendencies and reducing addiction. Research method: The statistical population consists of two groups. The first group consists of men dependent on traditional drugs aged 20 to 70 years who referred to the third-party drug centers in Qom in 1404 and the second group consists of people dependent on industrial drugs. 100 people will be selected for each group. The inclusion criteria for the study include the individual's gender, having informed consent to participate in the study, having a history of addiction of at least 1 to 5 years, and not having psychological disorders and specific physical diseases. The exclusion criteria for the study include the incompleteness of the individual's response form. Participants will be given a complete and useful explanation about the research, provided with the results if they wish, and it will be stated that participation in the research does not pose a risk to them. In order not to invade the privacy of individuals, research data will be collected anonymously and coded so that direct access to the identity of individuals will be eliminated. In order to maintain confidentiality and privacy, research data will be collected anonymously and coded.
