Journalism for patients (as opposed to journalism about patients and diseases) is considered a form of specialized journalism, requiring specific expertise and characteristics defined by its audience. This type of journalism is more complex than other forms of specialized journalism due to the unique circumstances and conditions faced by its audience (the challenging nature and ambiguous consequences of illness). The products of this journalism (such as news segments, news magazines, newsletters, and news podcasts) can serve as an intervention tool based on positive psychology to enhance resilience and hope among patients, thereby alleviating their psychological—even physical—problems. This research aims to outline features of journalism for patients to increase their hope and resilience. To achieve this, the researcher will collect, evaluate, and organize expert opinions through three rounds of the Delphi method. Based on the results obtained from this method and within the framework of action research, journalistic products will be presented to patients. These products will continue to be offered until the researcher is assured of their positive impact on patients' hope and resilience. During this period, essential information about patients’ experiences with these products will be gathered through focused interviews; this information may lead to modifications (removals, additions, and edits) that will shape the final characteristics of journalism for patients
