This research has an experimental nature and a pre-test-post-test design with a control group, and it is carried out with the aim of the effectiveness of rational-emotional behavior therapy on irrational beliefs, cognitive abilities and fear of failure of football players, the statistical population includes all Omid football teams in the first league of the country. which includes 25 teams with about 450 players. Among this statistical population, one team will be randomly selected as the statistical sample of the research and all football players of that team will be considered as the statistical sample. The practical method of data collection in this research is done through the questionnaire of irrational performance beliefs, the questionnaire of cognitive abilities, and the questionnaire of fear of failure in sports performance. In this research, rational emotional behavior therapy consists of educational sessions of rational emotional behavior therapy including 8 sessions, one session per week. 45 minutes for 2 months. In this research, descriptive statistics are used to describe, classify and adjust the raw scores by calculating the mean, standard deviation and drawing graphs, and in the inferential statistics section, the Shapiro-Wilk test is used to ensure the normality of the data distribution. Also, after checking the statistical assumptions for data analysis, the analysis of covariance test will be used to compare the average of the groups and suitable post hoc tests will be used. All analyzes are performed using SPSS version 20 software at a significance level of p < 0.5.
