Childhood for many individuals is accompanied by challenges, but for children struggling with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, these challenges can be more extensive. One common problem among children with ADHD is the inability to regulate emotions and exhibit inappropriate behaviors. This research aims to investigate a method called "reflective parenting" as a solution to improve these problems.
Reflective parenting helps parents establish deeper connections with their children by better understanding their emotions and feelings. In this approach, parents learn to consider their child's mind and inner world and respond appropriately based on that understanding. This study, aiming to measure the effectiveness of this method, has enrolled a group of mothers with children with ADHD in an 8-session training program.
During this training course, mothers will be introduced to the principles and techniques of reflective parenting and learn how to apply them in their interactions with their children. To evaluate the effectiveness of this program, questionnaires will be used to assess the mothers' emotional regulation, behavioral problems, and "reflective capacity." Reflective capacity refers to the parents' ability to understand and connect with their child's inner world and emotions.
The findings of this research can significantly contribute to improving parents' knowledge and skills in establishing effective communication with children with ADHD and ultimately enhancing the quality of life for these children and their families
