The present study aims to develop and validate of emotion-focused cognitive behavioral protocol based on SPAARS model and determining Its effectiveness on negative affect, suicidal thoughts, and quality of life in depressed adolescents. The research is done in two phases. The first phase is devoted to the formulation and validation of emotion-focused cognitive behavioral protocol based on SPAARS model, and the second phase examines the effectiveness of this protocol on negative emotions, suicidal thoughts, and the quality of life of depressed adolescents. This research phase is a semi-experimental study with pretest-posttest and control group. The statistical population of this section includes all students aged 15 to 18 with depression in Isfahan province. The research sample is accessible and included 40 students with depression disorder who were randomly placed in two experimental and control groups. The research instruments include: Beck depression questionnaire (second edition), Beck suicidal ideation questionnaire, positive and negative affect scale, and the World Health Organization quality of life questionnaire (short form). After the intervention in the experimental group, the post-test is performed for both groups and the results are analyzed with multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA).
