externalized behavioral disorders are a type of psychological pathology in which individuals exhibit aggressive, antagonistic, impulsive, and chronically irresolute behaviors. These disorders include conduct disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and antisocial personality disorder. Gifted individuals tend to display more destructive and persistent forms of these disorders, imposing higher costs on their surroundings and healthcare systems. It seems that in the clinical conceptualization of these disorders, there is a common point involving two variables: emotional regulation deficits and impulse control problems. This study focuses on social competence and decision-making skills, which are somewhat sociogenic etiology for these disorders. Research indicates that gifted individuals with these disorders have utilized talk therapy as a means of legitimizing their actions and perceive treatment as "another operation" thus a one-sided treatment with more authority from the therapist may be more beneficial for these individuals. Cognitive rehabilitation is one of the effective treatment methods, especially for childhood and adolescent psychologic disorders, which meets this criterion. This study in its initial phase uses content analysis and research synthesis to find the rehabilitation components from written sources and interviews with subject matter experts and after validation; using pretest-posttest method with control group evaluates its effectiveness.
