In this thesis, we examine the issue of predicting psychological well-being and self-harm based on the level of participation in organized physical activities in first-secondary students.

The importance and necessity of research (maximum of half a page)

Self-harm is a very serious social and psychological issue that can have profound effects on students' morale and performance, and if it is a problem, it may even lead to suicide (Houghton and Hekaranesh 2012). As mentioned, among the students of the first secondary level, one out of every three students commits intentional self-harm (Mullenkamp et al., 2006). Independence, mastery over the environment and self-acceptance, personal growth, establishing a positive relationship with others are not hidden from anyone, and also the correlation between psychological well-being and reducing the amount of self-harm doubled the necessity of this issue.
