Abstract
Introduction: Children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder often have behavioral problems and problems in their relationships with their parents.
Methods: This research will be conducted to determine the effectiveness of child-centered play therapy on behavioral problems and parent-child relationships in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. This study is semi-experimental applied research with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. 50 primary school students (7 to 12 years old) suffering from attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder in Isfahan City will be selected by the available sampling method and will be randomly divided into experimental and control groups. Swanson et al.'s Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Questionnaire, Goodman's Child Strengths and Weakness Questionnaire, and Pianta's Parent-Child Relationship Questionnaire will be used for pre-test and post-test stages, and the experimental group will receive child-centered play therapy in 18 30-minute sessions (4 days per week) and the control group will not receive any treatment. Research data will be analyzed through analysis of covariance and repeated measures analysis of variance.
