One of the issues raised in the field of women is the issue of hijab. This issue has been discussed throughout history and the place of opinions and attention of thinkers. Among the issues that are raised around the issue of women's hijab and about which discussions, analyzes and criticisms have been presented by Shia thinkers and writers, especially in the last 50 years, their defense of the validity of the doctrine of hijab has been through paying attention to its functions. They have tried to invite their audience to this important religious matter by paying attention to the correct and reasonable functions of hijab. It seems that this method (rational method) is one of the right ways to explain the doctrine of hijab in order to culture it
Considering that the issue of hijab in the last 50 years has been a source of opinions and differences between thinkers, both against and in favor, collecting the functions of hijab from the point of view of those in favor and responding to the criticisms of opponents will have a great impact on the explanation and deep understanding of this issue. Among the thinkers whose opinions are examined in this research are: Professor Shahid Morteza Motahari, Imam Musa Sadr, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, Hazrat Ayatollah Khamenei, Professor Rahim Pourazghadi, Professor Ali Safaei Haeri, Mohammad Reza Sabinejad, etc.
