This qualitative study aims to investigate the role of virtual life in students’ academic attitudes and values. The study will employ thematic analysis to analyze the collected data. Participants will be female students in the first cycle of secondary school (Grades 7, 8, and 9), who will be selected through convenience and purposive sampling. Inclusion criteria will include being a female student in the specified grades, regular use of virtual spaces and social media, access to digital devices, and willingness to participate in the interview. Sampling will continue until theoretical saturation is reached.
Data will be collected through semi-structured, in-depth interviews. The interviews will be conducted by prior arrangement, either in person or, when necessary, online through appropriate communication platforms. With the participants’ permission, the interviews will be audio-recorded and subsequently transcribed for analysis. Before participation, the purpose and procedures of the study will be explained to the students and their parents or legal guardians, and informed consent will be obtained.
All participants’ information will be kept confidential, and real names will not be used in the research reports. Participation will be entirely voluntary, and participants will have the right to withdraw from the study at any stage. Interviews will be conducted in an appropriate setting without pressure or coercion. Confidentiality, respect for participants, and relevant ethical principles of research will be maintained throughout the study.
