"This research, with an exploratory and qualitative approach, seeks to explore the determining role of maternal narratives in constructing the meaning of "resistance" in the minds of adolescents in the 1980s. In the current situation where the pluralistic media environment has created a multilayered identity for adolescents, this study attempts to understand how mothers, by creatively reinterpreting Shiite teachings (including Imamate, Mahdism, and Resurrection), link these concepts from the level of abstract theology to the deep layers of the adolescent's "lived experience."
The fundamental premise of the research is that mothers, as "narrative mediators," play a fundamental role in shaping the cognitive structure of their children by transforming these teachings into tangible narratives and localizing them in the context of everyday digital life. These narratives are not rigid teachings, but structures with the capacity for reinterpretation, through which the concept of “resistance” changes from an external task to an internal and identity-based choice. The present study, relying on the phenomenological method, seeks to outline the model of this “cultural translation” in order to analyze the semantic gap between the two generations and explain how adolescents critically confront competing narratives and the mechanisms of internalizing religious beliefs in the current world.
