The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of the Jonassen problem-based instructional design, enriched with Copilot artificial intelligence technology, on the problem-solving skills of sixth-grade elementary school students. This study is conducted in a mixed (quantitative-qualitative) manner. The quantitative part will be implemented in a quasi-experimental manner with a pre-test and post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of the study is sixth-grade students of one of the public schools in Takestan city in the academic year 1403-1404. Using the available sampling method, 60 students will be selected and randomly placed in two experimental and control groups.
The experimental group will receive their training based on the instructional design developed with the Jonassen model and using Copilot artificial intelligence (as a cognitive and learning support tool) during 8 60-minute sessions; while the control group will receive regular classroom training. The data collection tool in the quantitative part will be the standard problem-solving questionnaire.
At all stages of the research, ethical considerations will be observed, including written consent from parents, confidentiality of data, anonymity of participant information, and the possibility of voluntary withdrawal from the research at any time. This research does not involve any physical or psychological harm to participants and is designed solely with the aim of improving the quality of education and learning for students.
