Retirement is a period during which individuals often face numerous psychological and social challenges. Some of these challenges include loneliness, social isolation, psychological resilience, purposefulness in life, and depression. Previous research has shown that possessing five non-cognitive skills—optimism, perseverance, emotional stability, self-control, and sense of duty—can effectively increase longevity, reduce feelings of loneliness and social isolation, enhance psychological resilience, and decrease depression among middle-aged and elderly individuals. The present study aims to develop and validate a program for teaching non-cognitive life skills based on the approach of archetypes and to investigate its effectiveness in reducing feelings of loneliness and social isolation, as well as increasing psychological resilience and purposefulness in life. In this study, 34 retired men from Tehran will be invited to participate. These individuals will be randomly assigned to either an experimental or a control group. A pretest will be conducted for both groups, and only the experimental group will receive the educational package, which consists of 10 sessions, each lasting 90 minutes. After implementing the program, all participants will undergo a post-test, and the results will be analyzed using the analysis of covariance method.
